In addition ‘First Parenting' offers the following local antenatal exercise classes; you are encouraged to participate in exercise during pregnancy as part of your antenatal care. Exercise during pregnancy is an important as it eliminates the risk of excessive weight gain, high blood pressure and oedema. In addition it increases your flexibility, cardiovascular levels and strengthens your pelvic floor muscles all assisting in giving you an easier labour and quicker recovery Classes can be started from 12 weeks of pregnancy subject to completion of a health questionnaire and with the consent of your GP/Midwife.
Pilates for Pregnancy
Our deep muscle workout and relaxation technique classes takes place at Club Kingswood, Basildon on Saturdays 13.00-14.00 and is booked in blocks of four sessions at a cost of £40. You'll need comfortable clothing like tracksuit bottoms and a t-shirt (some women use a sports bra for extra support); a pillow/towel for additional support and a bottle of water will come in useful.
Aquanatal Classes
Our fun and enjoyable aqua aerobic classes take place at Bannatynes Health Club, Chafford Hundred on Saturdays 14.00-15.00 and are booked in blocks of four sessions at a cost of £28. You'll need a comfortable swimming costume (some women use a sports bra for extra support); £1 for the lockers which is returnable and a bottle of water will come in useful.
